Jose of Cibolo, TX September 19, 2009

In July 2009 I graduated from Devry Unversity.About a week or two after I graduated, I got a call from some guy from the corporate office named Don. He said that my Pell Grants were reversed as a result of "my poor performance". The fact of the matter is that, 3 out of my last four classes were "D's". But I still graduated with a 2.4 GPA. I argued the fact that I am still over the 2.0 minimum that the Pell Grant rules require. So after stumbling his way through his ridiculous rhetoric; He said that I also made too much this year. I informed him that My wife and I made 54,000. this year, thats only 4,00. more that the previous year! Now Erika Ditzenberger, the Financial aid lady from Devry in San Antonio said the reason why my pell grants were reversed had nothing to do with my grades. She could only tell me that my account was audited and they found that I didnt qualify for pell grants because I made too much. Now pardon my French, but this is Bull****!

As a result of Devry University's incompetence in auditing accounts, I was reversed actually back in March, but was allowed to keep going to school until after July (when I graduated). Now I am being denied my Bachelor's degree in Technical Management.I told both Erika and Don that I would never have gone back to Devry and finished my degree if I had known that they were going to put me through this. I would have never reenrolled until I had enough money to cover my tuition. I also asked, why they continued to let me go to school if my pell grants were actually reversed back in March? They said that they didnt know because, I was not audited until July. This episode has caused me such embarassment and mental anguish. Because, I worked so hard for this. I pulled off getting my B.A.S. in Technical Management after being a troubled young man who was a high school dropout, and I did this all while supporting my wife and child. So, yeah this causes me great embarassment when I tell people that I have a bachelor's degree in Technical Management and I do not have an actualt degree to show for it.

I requested information online about 3 months ago. DeVry started calling me 8-10 times a day. Sometimes only 20 minutes apart between calls. Never leaving a message.

I have contacted them on multiple ocassions asking to not be called again. I continue to receive calls. I believe it is boarding on harassing and I would like the calls to stop.

Via of Capitola, CA May 19, 2009

I went to DeVry university in July 2006. I was in DeVry for about, a little over 9 months and because I was only 17 when I applied for DeVry, my mom had to get a 2nd loan for me. When I decided to withdraw from DeVry, I discovered DeVry took out a loan from Xpress Loan Servicing for my mom and I that was more than 9000 altogether. I still dont know till this day if that 9000 covered the whole year's expense considering that I was only there for a little over 9 months. I only took 5 classes for those 9 months.

I owed Xpress Loan Servicing about 2700, and my mom owed more than 6000. When I tried to get help from their finacial advisors, they would tell me to wait and call back and wait some more. I finally gave up on trying to ask for help that my mom and I just decided to pay it. Eventhough we've managed to pay some of it off, my mom and I still owe over 6000. Which is ridiculous!! for 9 months of school, 5 classes? And DeVry claims that their classes are between 300-350?

I did a search online and requested information about RHIT programs. I was contacted by Betzi Meyer from Devry University online campus. She told me about the program but did not mention how much it cost until the end of conversation, once I asked. It is my fault that I did not ask until after I paid the 50.00 (supposedly refundable fee). Once I found out how much it cost I had already given her that information.

This was 02/01/2009 in the evening. I emailed her the next day when she sent me enrollment and financial aid info. telling her I was not interested and asked for my 50.00 back. She said she could not do it I would have to fill out form(that I could not download) and fax or contact customerservice. I contacted them 02/02/09 and numerous times since then. I also called and was told I would have to talk to B. Wagner, but that she does not talk to people that you have to contact her via email. I was given her voicemail that also indicated for me to email her. I did I believe on 03/17/09, and still have not received a response from her.

I have contacted them at least 5-7 times since 02/02/09 to no avail. I cannot afford to GIVE away 50.00 especially for services I do not want and have not received. I just want my money back. They would not respond, I even asked that they just put it back on my credit card. It is not 03/27/09 and I am still fighting this battle. It really is deterring me from wanting to go to school online if all of them are going to be shady like Devry.

I am out of 50.00 that I could really use and could not afford to give away. B. Meyer is definitely a good sales person because she got my money before I even knew what was going on. I just want to better myself, not get duped out of my hard earned, hard to come by, money.

Devry took out student loan under my name and did not apply to any of the classes that I took. I pay all my classes in cash. But Devry took out 6000.00 loan from Wachovia and keeps it in their account. Now I owe Wachovia 6000.00.

Damages 1) The liability in the credit report unnecessarily goes up by 6,000. Negatively impacting my credit. 2) Mental frustration caused, due to continuasly writng emails and several meeting, to resolve this issue without any solutions.

Frederick of Harker Heights, TX March 15, 2009

Frederick of Harker Heights TX (03/15/09)
In January 2008 I was offered an online class from DeVry University. I was told that since I am a DOD contractor in Iraq and also an alumni of that school (I graduated in 1987) I would only have to pay 275 for the class Intro to Game and Simulation Programming. I was also told (and I have this in writing) that I must pay the full tuition prior to taking the class. I accepted the offer and took the class. (I still have all the email to support this)

Approximately 1 year later, I checked my credit report and saw that they had listed me as delinquent for an account of over 800. When I called their Accounts Escalations department I was told that my tuition rate was not accepted because no award letter was granted. I told them that this was the first time I heard anything about some award letter. I reminded them that since they offered me the class for 275, any miscommunications between their departments about some award letter should not be my problem.

I again escalated this to Ms. Lynette W and told her that I was offered this class for 275 and that there was never a mention about the price being contingent on an award letter. Her email back to me said: You may want to contact your academic advisor regarding the price you were quoted, I am unable to assist you with this. (My academic advisor doesn't work there anymore and this should not be my problem anyway) .... I have all emails and paperwork to show DeVry's offer of this class for 275 as well as stating that I must be paid in full prior to the beginning of the class.

My credit profile has been damaged by DeVry and they have sent this to collections.
